It all began with a blog

The West Review: the window into my ramblings
2014 – 2023

My very first foray into anything considered extra-curricula, The West Review is where it all started.

In 2014 I launched my most cherished side-project, a humble music blog where I could ramble and rant and write about albums, songs, events and festivals. I designed the site and its branding all by myself, and of course write all its content.

This was the very foundation of my future, from work to life to career, and undoubtedly fuelled my passion for the written word and music. Even with this portfolio you’ll see how it’s put together in more of a blog-ish format, rather than a list of projects and career highlights.

.

.

I’ve been lucky enough to review festivals all over Europe, rub shoulders with the musical elite backstage, and work with an extensive list of industry players, from Motion and Fabric to Boomtown and Latitude Festival.

Personal highlights from a writing perspective are ‘Kanye West, Radiohead, Bon Iver, and the art of disruption‘, and ‘The UK’s 15 best electronic acts of all time‘.

After nearly 10 years of The West Review, I called time on my little blog as I can’t give it the same time and attention it deserves anymore. But it’s still played perhaps the most important part of my career, and is undoubtedly why I’m here today.
